Non Page Fault Error and Other BSD

I bought a new computer about a month ago. After loading Avast I started getting the lovely BSD. I have noticed also that upon booting up if Avast tried to update the virus library my system will give an error and restart. Avast will say that it couldn’t perform the update. I have run memtest86 and let it run for a couple of hours without a problem.

I am getting the BSD about everyother time I start my computer. The Non Page Fault is the most common error but I get a few others as well. After the computer restarts itself or I restart it it runs fine for hours on end. Is there anything I can do? I can send the memory dump files that have been generated if that will help.

If you set avast! to update manually does the problem persist?
Have you installed any other antivirus programs?
What is your operating system?

What was the error ? What type of internet connection do you have ?

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
