Welcome to the forum.
No problems here accessing:
http://www.spiritair.com/
Have you allowed the avast! webshield in your firewall? (ashWebSv.exe)
Avast! only scans, your firewall blocks.

Other than it taking a while to load (on dial-up) it loads fine with firefox 3.0.1.

It seems strange that you can’t access the site or reply to emails and as Bob said avast scans and will alert to infection, but doesn’t block.

I was wondering if you where ever able to access Spirit Airlines?
I have the same problem. Only after I reboot in Safe Mode, can I can access it.

Well there doesn’t seem to be any change, it loads albeit slowly on dial-up and a pop-up to kill.

You don’t say why you can’t access it in normal mode, errors, etc. ?

You don’t say what your connection type is ?

**********IE 6 just locks up. I can see that it has accessed the website in the top of the IE browser but then it stops.

********* DSL.

I’ve added the www.spiritair.com to both MaCeff Allowed sites, and to IE Trusted Sites.
Still no change.

Loads fine for me aswell ???

@ jjobin,

I assume you are having the same problems as the original poster.

For me nothing has changed even on dial-up I can connect without problem albeit a little slow (not unusual) and for you on DSL there should be no problem. Have you tried with a different browser ?

What is your OS ?
I have tried loading this in IE6 and it is without doubt the absolute pits on dial-up, much slower than firefox. I also got a pop-up as I block cookies to third party sites, e.g. not for the same site you are visiting.

So if you happen to be blocking cookies that may well have an impact on loading. I would also suggest you disable the “MaCeff Allowed sites,” you mention.
Do you actually mean McAfee not MaCeff ?

If so then do you have any McAfee product installed (I’m thinking anti-virus here) and if so what ?

OS is WINXP, SP3

Yes, McAfee (sorry for that).

Pop Up blocker: Disabled.

Why disable “McAfee Allowed Sites?”

McAfee products installed are:
SecurityCenter
VirusScan
Personal Firewall

Can you try to temporarily disable VirusScan and see if you can get to the spirit website then ?

BTW you aren’t running the Mcafee VirusScan together with avast! ??

Don’t know what avast! is.

Cookies set to Medium.
I’ve addes spiritair.com to the Always Allow, and, well, no change.

VirusProtecion Disabled.
no difference.

I don’t have avast
Only McAfee.

i’ve disabel Firewall and still a “no-go”

I can only access the website if I reboot in Safe Mode.

??? You’re posting in avast forums… ???

Why are you asking for help in avast forum then? ???
Ask McAfee…

WOW, i’m really off base.
Sorry.

jjobin, anyway, welcome to avast forums…
We’ll say that we have a better antivirus than your McAfee

No problem.

As for disabling the site check, it might be that which is causing an issue, this would if nothing else eliminate it.

Certainly a much quicker response for help ;D
