Not booting with boot scan enabled

Hopefull someone will be able to help. I have just installed Avast! free and ran scan successfull. I enabled boot scan afterwards. A little while later m computer (Windows 8) went down with a blue screen. With first reboot, boot scan was started but PC went down a few seconds later. Now it does not start at all, I hear the fan for 1 second, then it turns of again. No chance to boot fromm an other device. Is there an option to disable boot scan directl on the hard drive? I can’t do anthing in the system, since it is not starting. So only option seems to connect hard drive to a different PC and manipulate some settings in this way. Is there an wa to do so?

Please advice!
Thanks in advance!
Barbara

I have a site with Windows XP systems, that will not boot, after a boot time scan. So, I was just hoping …

Thanks for the update.

I know this wouldn’t have helped your situation, but it may help other people that can’t get Windows 7 to boot.

If your Windows 7 is having trouble booting properly and Startup Repair didn’t fix the problem, it’s worth trying the Bootrec.exe tool by running in the Command Prompt. This utility was designed to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows 7.
