I have tried to request a new registration id several times and am not seeing the email. I have done this several times before without any issues.

What avast version are you using 4.8 or 5.0 ?
If avast5, why go the old email registration route when you can register through the avastUI.
If avast 4.8, try using a different email address, a free web based email from google or yahoo, etc. as the most common cause of non-receipt is ISP anti-spam processing.
