Hello, I have a Batch file that I created to terminates Explorer.exe wait 15 seconds then starts Explorer.exe. Here is my question executing the Batch file makes my Avast AV notification icon not appear. . . . is that ok i checked my task manager.exe and it still shows Avast.exe is still running, So I opened the avast UI and seen all shields are up and Functioning. I just want to make sure it is not going to be a problem if it is not showing. I do not mind going to start then clicking the avast UI icon.

What is the reason why you want to disable explorer for 15 seconds?

Because i edited the registry using regedit.exe to disable a partition I have. It requires me to restart Explorer.exe

Please elaborate on this because it doesn’t make any sense to me to disable a partition.

there is files on the partition I need to hide software i’m developing. Any who, is it ok if the notification icon is not showing?

As long as avast shows up as working in the taskmanager you should be fine.

About the hiding, you do realize that disabling a partition is not exactly hiding things?
Everyone can enable it again or use a live cd/dvd to look at the partition.
And there are (free) recovery tools that will show what is on the partition.

My idea is if they cant see it there less likely to hack i also used a registry key to lock and hide it. but i see what you mean.
