NSAG-B in WININET.DLL

A client has the NSAG-B DLL virus on their PC. The Virus went to the Chest, but of course this is a required file and on system start we get no desktop icons and nothing works.

Any ideas on how to correct this and get the client’s PC running again

but of course this is a required file
Hmm yo never mentioned a file (name) ' There is basicly only one way to make sure a system is clean. Click on the link in my signature and follow the instructions.

Hi Shane,

Here you find information on this shady fishing malware to promote an anti-malware product, strange way of promoting a program.
http://www.virusbtn.com/virusbulletin/archive/2005/10/vb200510-grey-coulds

Use this: http://www.downloads.subratam.org/smitRem.exe
Load this, boot in safe mode, open smitRem folder, and double click Run This. Wait for the blue screen, send Smitfiles.text and post here.

greets,

Ya missed it, Eddy … it’s in the title.

You can leave that infected file in the chest for 2 weeks or more and then check it again with another scan. In the mean time, there are other sources for this file. Remember … Google search is your friend!

Among the many listings is this one …

I am guessing this client’s computer is running W95 or W98?

Hi Charley O,

Read how some people construct special batch files for this re-occurring nuisance:

So as I say it can be automated.

Thanks, polonus … I did not find that link in my search for info. Hopefully, Shane can use that info, too. It’s much appreciated!
