I updated my Nvidia drivers to the latest “windows 10” compatibility driver and my login screen became unresponsive. I had to go into SafeMode and disable Avast’s boot time scan. Which fixed the problem…
I had to use the same SafeMode method after upgrading to windows 10 because I neglected to update my avast program first. However this second time I was fully upgraded before downloading the Nvidia driver.
A boot time scan is something you schedule. Once completed, it’s finished. It doesn’t repeat.
It isn’t supposed to. It also isn’t something you run except for special circumstances.
Some more detailed information would help, what series NVidia card is installed? ( only 400 series and up are receiving Win 10 compatible drivers )
I cant see how boot scan would affect the installation of new drivers ??? I’ve done two NVidia updates since installing Win 10 and both have been flawless.
