Odd email

Sorry to bother you guys AGAIN…

Earlier I had a spam email that said it was sent from my address, to my address. It didn’t worry me too much, because I’ve had them before and read that as long as no sent messages for it were found, it probably just a spammer using my address to mask where it really came from.

Just now though, I got another email, which was a mailer deferred message, saying that a message from my account couldn’t be delivered because the amount of maximum posts per hour had been exceeded…I didn’t send the message, and although it was ‘from’ my address, it mentioned a different host/email address too, (I’m with aol, and it keeps mentioning estlick.com) so I don’t know if they’ve been doing it using my email as a mask and it got sent back to me because of that, or if they’re really using my account.

[Message was here…a random string of characters]’

I’ve never had something like this, even when I’ve had spam with my own address on before, so I’m not sure what it means or if there’s some kind of naughty hoo doo afooot. Also, I googled the email address mentioned. One of the first pages that came up was a linkedin account for it. A couple of weeks ago I got a message supposedly from a linkedin message alert…and I, stupidly, clicked on it, thinking it was authentic as I’d literally just updated my info linkedin like an hour before…and it set my avast alert crazy. I didn’t think anything had gotten through, but was wondering if there’s a connection with the above…or if it’s just coincidence. I guess that’s why I’m asking you guys, cos I know virtually nothing about this stuff LOL

Thanks in advance!
