As said before, the Symbian architecture is not open for this kind of security software. Also, there is not the same security risks. You’re safe.
Last but not least, the market share is against Symbian OS.
1.0.1473 was released yesterday.
That is correct!
Filip
Haven’t seen any announcement on the forum, though.
A short changelog would be nice.
+1
OK, since it’s a minor update, I’ll just put it here.
An incomplete changelog of avast! Mobile Security 1.0.1473 as seen on Android Market:
- Multiple bug fixes including a fix for the automatic updates bug.
- Added an option to change language in application settings.
- Added passworded avast! Anti-Theft removal wizard to avast! Mobile Security settings.
- The firewall can now be toggled between “Deny selected” and “Allow selected” modes.
Filip
Thanks Filip.
Thanks.

Changing language, it’s good. But Avast make me sad. It’s Czech company, right? I can chose from English (I understand that English is most used language for IT…), Portuguese, Italian… Why Portuguese? Why not Czech? I don’t understand why the Czech company don’t respect (or prefer little bit) national users? So I am sorry for my angry, but it’s still like the same, and unfortunately not only in Avast Our small country is not so good for business and for retrospection. The question is, when Avast will obtain native language?
I have no antivirus in phone, I wait for avast, because I really like it and Trust the Avast team. (I really don’t trust eg. AVG on mobile and for Windows too) Keep good working
Thanks for answering.
Charla
Why Portuguese?
- Because I’ve done the translation
- Because Brazil is the 1st avast market for PC.
- Because Brazil is the third avast market for mobile.
Charla, the Czech version will come soon. I wish I could speak Czech
I already see the translators working on Czech so i can confirm
All,
Long time not share and follow in this forum…i missed all of you…finally avast has released android protection…i am not patient to try it…
cheers,
Installed AMS on my SGS2 rooted phone. Enabled “Anti-theft” feature and restarted the phone…but the AMS is not on Stealth mode. It is still “visible” in both the Notification Bar as well as in the Apps list…is this normal?
Thanks

The short answer is that you can’t as you don’t have an android (operating system) phone, you have a phone with a Windows 6.5 phone operating system. This isn’t a supported operating system.
What are the system requirements for avast! Free Mobile Security? In order to install and run avast! Free Mobile Security, any phone capable of running operating systems Android 2.1.x, 2.2.x or 2.3.x is required.Note:
avast! Free Mobile security isn’t supported (isn’t compatible, cannot be installed and won’t run) on Symbian, iOS, Microsoft Windows Phone/Mobile, Bada, WebOS, or any other operating system which is not specified as supported.
Hi everyone,
long time no see, right? An update of avast! Mobile Security has been released on Android Market, it might take some time (maybe even hours) from now before you get notified about the update availability, but I just thought I will let you know pretty soon this time
The version is now 1.0.1590 and an incomplete changelog is here:
- Multiple bug fixes.
- Added Czech language pack.
- Better memory management during SD card scan.
Hope you like it! Feedback is welcome of course
Filip
It’s already available Thanks!
I see it is available as an update when I use the MyApps in the market, but clicking on update doesn’t actually update just bring up the Open - Uninstall interface.
So it might be a while as you mentioned.
EDIT: Just tried it again and this time the Update came up and has now installed.
