Offline Definition Update Fails on several computers with empty last.dump

I’ve been experiencing this issue for a little over a month now. I update several computers installed with Avast Free in our environment with the offline definition update. Just over half the computers fail with a -1073741819 error code. There is also an empty last.dump file created in the directory of the vpsupd.exe file.

Usually the PC’s access the vpsupd file from a file share, but running from a local folder also fails with the same results.

It’s an avast site.

That site leads to the exact same download link. Apparently avdcn.net is where Avast is hosting their files.

Issue is still there.

Try Asyn’s Repair method in reply #1. Work? If not, see reply #3 in this thread, and post you have sent off requested support package.
