Avast VPS update for versions 12+ for offline of update definitions does not update definitions for version 19 of antivirus software. I noticed that the files in the def folder don’t get updated after running the vpsupd.exe installer. The aswdefs.ini doesn’t update as does the folder of definition date eg. 19030106. I knew something was up after having avast update the definitions itself with a dialup connection the next day. A 20 mb update. Should have been a small update after downloading the latest offline update & running it the previous day. The vpsupd.exe installer needs to be updated for version 19. This wasn’t an issue for version 18. I am running windows 10 pro.
Hello, we will fix website soon.
The offline definitions update still needs work. What happens now if you had used it previously on a computer it will next time produce an error that says “there was an error while changing the product configuration” In other words you can’t do back to back offline updates of definitions. If you have avast do the update itself next time, offline update will install the next time without an error. This has to be addressed.
