0 days left… what should I do ?
Thank you !

Don’t worry the offline registration is not needed anymore. The program will automagically register itself 10 days after expiration even when you are offline  If you are online you can just click the Activate button on main screen.

Thank you Martin for your answer ! 10 days after expriation will be on June 21st… so I shall wait and see what happens !!
Have a nice day !
;D

Please report back after that day. Thanks

Day 11 and desktop still down. Laptop also went down, but hasn’t been 10 days yet. Does anyone have any other idea’s? Maybe uninstall & reinstall avast? I think that will only buy us 90 days though.

Update to the latest version (17.5.2302): https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=204588.0

My 2nd desktop Windows 7 is running in offline mode (LAN card is 0/0/0). I loaded the new offline Avast 18.6, as a clean installation and now the activation code is no longer recognized when I enter the old number. Can’t find the registration process for a new offline activation code. How do I go about applying for a registration code for the Avast Home Free version? Thanx.

Thanx for your reply Asyn. I’ll look out for this change that MartinZ suggests will take place. Regards.

You’re welcome.

A query, after waiting for more than 10 days as advised above, the Avast program still warns that my offline desktop computer is unprotected. The program offers to correct this but tries to go online. Since there is no LAN card / internet connection it fails to update. Should it not after 10 days, show as registered free version? Operating system is Windows 7 SP1. Avast is the latest 18-6-3983-0 Free Home Version. What am I doing wrong or do I not understanding the program?

You need internet access for the registration to happen.
If your computer is never online, why do you need a third party AV ???
Are you adding things to that computer via external means ???

Yes. I make use of flash and external drives to transfer data. The off-line PC has better specs. Only problem is the on-board LAN is blown. There are no free PCI slots, to allow for a PCI LAN card installation.

How about adding a USB wifi adapter ???
This might help: https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Electronics-USB-Computer-Network-Adapters/zgbs/electronics/13983791
Or get it locally. They typically aren’t very expensive. I use one in place of the built in wifi card on my laptop.

Thanx for your advice. I’ll follow up on what you recommended. On the other hand, being able to connecting to the internet defeats the object of having a standalone / off-line machine. The basic idea for the off-line antivirus program, is to stop viruses from being loaded when plugging in thumb drives. While the antivirus program loaded on the stand alone PC with any problems, it displays a message that the PC is not protected and that is the main concern.

Maybe.

1.) Workaround will require you temporarily connect to update registration.
2.) Updating your antivirus signatures can be done from here using an internet connected machine (not the offline): https://www.avast.com/download-update
3.) Strongly suggest using this program to protect your offline system as well as online ones: http://www.mcshield.net/ Designed to protect you from USB malwares. Does not require updating.
