Offline Update (vpsupd.exe) Error = "b86362a.exe has stopped working"

Hello community!
I have a standalone PC WITHOUT internet access and regularly download the offline virus definitions (vpsupd.exe) from the Avast website. Is it possible that this vpsupd.exe (supposedly for Avast versions 19+) is not compatible with the current version 25.x.xxxxxx? When I try to update, I always get the message “b86362a.exe has stopped working” … Up until Avast version 24.9.xxx, the offline update via vpsupd.exe worked perfectly!
Question: How can I update the newer versions 25.x.xxxxxx offline - or do I have to stick with the older version?
Best regards

You’re right, latest Avast is (mostly) not compatible with vpsupd.exe. Currently there is no way to update definitions offline in this case; so you should stay on older version that works along vpsupd if you need offline VPS update.

Just FYI, not all 25.x Avast is incompatible with vpsupd.exe… it’s depends on the module version that avast internally uses for update, and user cannot control it.
