Old Free Avast install connecting to new Avast account

I just created an account on this website via my desktop avast application in order to sub for a paid version. It shows as logged in on my desktop app. All good, right? No. When I try to make changes to my desktop app, it says it’s a bad password. I think I have set a password sometime in the past on the local account.

What’s the workaround? Do I need to uninstall it?

Update. I was able to complete the paid sub through the desktop app. Should I just go to the paid customer service then?

If you mean password for Windows Avast UI, then it’s a different one from Avast Account. Only way to remove forgot password from Avast Windows app would be reinstall of Avast.
