"On Access Scanner" message flood at bottom of screen

Just recently started with Avast. Using Opera (latest version), pressed F11 for full screen on mypage.com Then the 'On access scanner messages started appearing. A LOT of them.

I found the advice to uncheck ‘Show detailed info on performed action’ but I could not find that choice anywhere. Double clicked on all of the available choices and looked at all of the tabs but I never could find that choice.

So if I want to be able to concentrate at all, I have to turn off the On Access Scanner to keep from having the bottom 1/2 to 1/3 of the screen covered with messages. Not a good idea, but is there any other way? If I can’t find something soon I’ll try uninstalling and reinstalling it to see if that helps. Then I’ll try F11 with Opera again to see if that brings it up again.

I’ll do pretty much anything to get rid of this.

It seems that you’ve changed the avast settings without knowing what you were doing…
This is an option disabled by default. You can turn it off going to the Standard Shield provider settings, Advanced tab an unchecking ‘Show detailed information on action performed’. You can do this for the other providers too (specially WebShield).

Welcome to avast. The most configurable antivirus around 8)

its not turning off. do you have to restart your computer/avast for it to take effect?

Have you checked the three providers that you could have tweaked that contain this option (web shield, internet mail and the standard shield ?

You shouldn’t have to reboot for them to come into effect.

Awesome, thanks

No problem, glad I could help.
