I have Windows Vista beta 2 and I’m using the latest Avast 4.7.844 build.
I noticed that at Vista startup the Avast icon on the system tray says On access scanner is disabled for a few seconds. Is it normal? Does Avast protect on Windows startup?
The AV scanner is hosted in a Win32 service. If the system starts the service earlier (later), the protection starts earlier (later).
Do you have auto-logon enabled? Or do you log on to the system manually?
I log on manually with a password, of course!
How to do it on Vista?
I’ve used TweakXP to do it in Windows XP. Will it work on Vista?
Luk_e, for me, avast is enabled when logging Vista.
Did you install any other antivirus in this Vista?
Does the same happen even if you wait for a while (e.g. 1 minute) before logging on?
