Once again, Avast is warning for Dropbox.exe + cache/tmp files during sync

Haven’t seen this since somewhere around 2013-2014. During sync, Avast starts hysterically warning about almost anything Dropbox. Older install file from Dropbox was flagged first. Win32:Malware.

I hardly think that was a virus, nor Malware.

Then, both process Dropbox.exe and .dropbox-cache and latest tmp files in cache folder got repeatedly flagged and shoved into quarantine. Which means it took forever to sync, and the tmp files needed to be restored, as well as Dropbox.exe. The tmp files also turned out to be only whitelisted, but not restored.

Avast does not allow sending of virus chest files, for some reason. Option is greyed out in menu.

Have done massive scans with Avast and other programs, full system and hard drives. No viruses, no malware. So this is obviously connected with Avast not accepting the Dropbox process and app themselves.

I need this fixed. It’s annoying, and also very problematic while trying to work, as all my connected computers are totally flipping out, at the moment.

Hello,
regarding the greyed out option sending of virus to chest can be caused by full chest. Check the maximum allowed size for chest in settings.
The detected file which you think is not a malware can be sent through https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php
