One Note Win32Trojan-Gen (other) Highly Dubious

This malware was picked up doing a scan last night.

Could not be moved to the chest.

Could not be deleted

Could not be moved

Could not be renamed

Turns out to be one note from a cab within Microsoft home and student edition 2007
from the unexecuted program file.

I did run a boot scan that did not find anything.

Is this a real issue or a false positive and if a false positive when will it be corrected.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and help.

I got that too. Apparently it’s a false positive? Still finding out about it though…

Check my reply here, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=42309.msg354368#msg354368.

The files in question were submitted last night to avast

I did update avast today and I did run another deep regular scan. This scan did still pick this issue up

It will take a little time (not too long I hope) for the files to be analysed and if confirmed an FP, a correction made and an update to the VPS released.

it appears that the most recent update has resolved the issue

Thanks for the update, I told you it usually doesn’t take long ;D

I would agree that you were correct and that Avast acted with more speed in resolving this issue than other companies do in merely recognizing that they have a false positive
