One one Avast Business Security client, "virus definitions not up to date" in both local GUI and on the Business Cloudcare portal

Fortunately, this is on my own laptop. I started getting alerts sent from the portal (a configured alert when an endpoint slips behind too much) that my laptop’s Avast Business Security virus defs are not up to date. After many days and attempts to update via “Update” in the portal, still out of date. I just tried locally in the ABS GUI - it goes through the motions, the listed date/time of last check is current, and still a red exclamation mark “Virus definitions are not up to date”.

A cursory forum search finds this has happened to others over the years, I didn’t notice anything that might pertain to a current bug.

I’ve rebooted, tried ctrl+clicking the local taskbar icon and did the several items (perform device detection, reauthenticate, clear cache).

I have not yet uninstalled/reinstalled, the go-to fix when it just will not work right.

From Avast Business Hub try to reinstall the service.

On the device page, select the device and go to the menu More >> Reinstall a sercive >> Antivirus

FYI There is a dedicated forum section for Avast Business product here: Avast Business - Avast Community

Note I am not an Avast Team member just another user.

Thanks! I’ll need to look into that again. It was quite a while ago now when talk was of moving to the “business hub” for all - I never did get changed over that there. And the old CloudCare portal is still working - well, apart for issues like this.

What you’re describing doesn’t exist in the old portal.

Thanks. I’ve become confused as there are quite a few forums, portals, Etc. sites now. I do have a login for the one you reference (and I’ve posted issues there previously as well).

I have a scheduled chat with my account rep tomorrow that hopefully with get my access to all tidied up.
