The public at large has the idea the spam problem has come finally under control, but with 6% of all mail delivered not being spam, we are far from any definite solution, and the gigantic amount of users whose computers have been turned into spam-spewing zombies does not help either to arrive at a solution,
While that may be a fine program, I do not think it will help much with the overall problem of spam. Such programs do not help the unknowing who are sending out spam with their compromised computers.
Why do you ask me this, as I am a mailwasher user also? We know what is good for us, don’t we?
Better instruct users how they can tweak their mailwasher to scan against certain spam lists, I have inserted five - load da beef! Also there is still “the last free version online” available for mailwasher free- safe you use one mail account…
My Mailwasher Pro I bought years ago when it was version 3.0 I believe and I have had updates through to version 6.1 at no extra cost. So it has been great value for money.
It also catches virtually all spam first time and with a little education this improves. I have 4 filters to catch spam (often these are picked up by MW also), 1) Not For Me, if it isn’t directly addressed to me (to or bcc field) I flag it for deletion. 2)MeMe, emails supposedly sent my me to me, flagged for deletion 3)General, 10 common words used in spam 4)General 2, a continuation of common words in spam.
With this I get virtually zero undetected spam all of which is deleted from the server before being downloaded, a boon on dial-up.
think it’s up to version 6.1 now Davidr and well worth the investment for the pro version with the JUNK it has caught over the while i have used it with mozilla thunderbird for my POP mail
