My e mail attachments won’t open. Why?

What is your email program ?
What is the attachments file type (e.g. exe, zip, etc.) ?
More importantly, why are you trying to open an email attachment ?
That is very dangerous if trying to directly open from within the email. The safe way is to save the attachment to your hard disk where you should scan it before attempting to open it.
