Just following from this ongoing thread http://forum.avast.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=1857d47b6f4cf9393e4c7d92000c1193&topic=34361.0
is the P2P module able to scan realtime downloading via Opera 9 browser’s own torrent client? I can see ‘opera dc’ in the custom list but I’m not clear if that relates to the Opera browser torrent. Failing that, as the torrent is via the Opera browser, would the web shield module scan it realtime?
Thanks
so nobody knows?
I’m not sure… Does utorrent through Opera uses HTTP protocol? If so, WebShield will scan it.
If not, WebShield won’t scan it.
I suspect that it uses TCP and UDP protocols…
I don’t use Opera, nor P2P, however, if Opera’s browser torrent is actually a p2p module, I would have thought that it would use P2P protocols.
The problem would then be is Opera’s P2P module supported in the avast P2P shield and I would think it is, provided that P2P module is Opera’s DC++ ?
If not then it isn’t supported.
Within ashResP2P.dll we can find reference to string ODC.EXE. Probably this is exe using for Opera DC++ processing within avast! P2P Shield. I don’t know is this exe present in Opera installation or not. If not then probably Opera browser torrent client can not be processed by avast!
What did you use for a rummage inside ashResP2P.dll ?
FAR Manager and his View capability (F3). I like text only interface
Thanks.
