Our own chrome extension being reported as Virus

Hello there guys,

I have been developing a Chrome Extension however it is being reported by Avast for some of our users that it is a virus. I know in the Browser Cleanup it has low ratings however this is due to it only having 40 reviews. However this should not cause it to claim there is a virus within the application.

I am the sole developer of the extension and can ensure that there is no malicious code within the extension to cause this alarm.

If anybody could help or point me in the right direction, it would be really appreciated

Kind Regards
Warren Doyle

what does the avast message say?

have you tested the file here www.virustotal.com / www.metascan-online.com

you can report issues here https://support.avast.com/

Try this form http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php

Or send the file to virus@avast.com using a password protected zipped file.
Use the word “false positive” as a password.

Once the virus lab gets their hand on it they will then make a decision.

You can also check files at…(each of these have size limits)
