out of date virus definition reported, but won't update

Summary screen reports that my current definitions are 100414-1 and are out of date. I push the update button and two small files are downloaded quickly, then the screen tells me that the definitions are up to date (100504-2).

But the summary screen still says that the current definitions are 100414-1 and are out of date, and Windows Security Alerts also reports that the antivirus is out of date.

I’ve tried repairing the program, I even tried removing it and reinstalling and the problem persists.

Please advise.

Traffic has been busy with people updating. Try again later. I also encountered the same problem but was able to update at a later time with no difficulty.
