Outbound access

Hi,
Firstly I’ll apologise if this issue has been covered before, but I’m a lil new to this forum.

Ok, how do I restrict certain programs from accessing the internet, or does anything already installed on my PC have automatic full access to the web whenever it reals the need…?

Other antivirus/firewall products seems to have this ‘outbound’ restriction as standard, but so far Ive been unable to find it on the Avast4 free download.

This I believe is not a function of an anti-virus rather a firewall and as far as I’m aware it is not in avast! 4 Home.

If this function isnt available within Avast, can I run the likes of ZoneAlarm as my firewall, and Avast as my antivirus ?

avast is purely an anti-virus program it isn’t a firewall and never was.

Zone Alarm works fine with avast!
