Outlook Provider stuck on "Waiting for subsystem to Start"

Hey Guy’s!!!

Well i made a couple of posts in the topic "Topic: Problem sending big attached files " but lately i can send & recieve as big as i want again!!!

But now i’m stuck with a different error!! I’m Running Outlook 2003 & i’ve got Avast ver: 4.6 Home Edition!!! (See attached pic for more info)

Now i’ve disabled “Internet Mail Provider” so out of the 7 providers i’m running 6 but the popup on the system try icon only keeps showing 5 out of 7 running with outlook open or not! (See 3 red squers on pic below)

The Avast splash screen does not come up when i start outlook! I’ve done a repair & i’ve uninstalled & re-installed Avast, plus updated to today…

This only started about 3weeks ago, have been runnig Avast for a year with out any trouble, can’t say that i installed anything in the last month…

Anybody got any idees???

Thanx for the help!!

Ps: Do you think i should uninstall outlook & re-install???

What about uninstalling the provider and booting?
Strange, sometimes the Outlook plugin is not recognized… I think Alwil team should take a look on it… From time to time, this happens in some systems…

I only disabled the “internet mail” provider to test if it solved my outlook problem, since it “partly” did, i don’t get time out’s anymore, i left it of & trust my i-net mail providers virus scanners, but i’d like to start it again…

The mail problem is outlook, like you can see the avast provider for outlook is stuck on waiting for sub-system to start… That’s my BIG HEAD ACH…

Is there any way that i can let avast gather info about my outlook & it’s own setup & then send it to the avast crew, so they can check if anything is wrong?

As reported a lot of times, the message “The provider is waiting on the subsystem to start” will be shown there until you open MS Outlook.
The plugin will be enabled automatically after that.

Maybe you can add the following line to the [MailScanner] section of \data\avast4.ini:

Log=20

Then generate some traffic, simulate the problem (i.e. force the avast mail scanner to time out by sending an email with attachment) and then post here the contents of the file \data\log\aswMaiSv.log

We seem to be missing each other somewhere!!!

As shown in the Pictures in my first post, my outlook is open, the outlook provider is selected in outlook & still the providers shows “Waiting for subsystem to start!!”

That is my mail problem…

I’m not going to be near a PC the W’End, including tomoro so i’ll only be able to check in again on monday!!!

Thanx for all the help…

PS: Look at the BIG Picture in my first post to see, nearly everything… I’m discribing in words!!!

Open the About box in Outlook, click “Disabled Items” and remove the avast DLL from the list.

About box is an obvious place to look for this kind of stuff, right? :-\ ;D

Cheers

THANX A MILLION Vlk
