Outlook zipped attachments scaning

Hi All,
Does Avast Home scan inside zipped attachments (Outlook)?

My system I can assume is clean now What are optimal settings to set the scaning only for new (downloaded) files including archives. One nice thing I noticed Avast doesn’t scan the same executable twice, if it wasn’t changed.

Thanks,
Vladimir

Sure it does if you have your setup correctly.

Hard to tell since you didn't say how you have checked.

Time to read the help. (start > programs > Avast > help) It will explain all settings. If you want more than mentioned there, browse or search this board and especially have a look at the first 3 links in Technicals signature. http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=;action=viewprofile;user=technical

What does it mean "setup correctly"? Found a "Packers" tab in the help, but cannot find it anywhere in the application. I cheked "Standard" "Outlook" "EMail" shields options.

Thanks,
Vladimir

If you have a look at the Outlook/Exchange provider in the on-access control panel, the answer is on the first tab (scanner) if you click on customize.

I know about that tab :), but no words about packers :frowning:

The mail modules scan inside all supported archives/packers by default.

In the Professional Edition, this can be further customized using the program GUI.
