Palevo 4055 worm

Hey everyone new here. Got a problem…I’m a paid member of avast and sad to say avast didn’t find this worm. I am trying something new so not good at it yet. I am runing zorin is (Linux distribution) on a USB and scaned with clamav. It foudn the worm but how do I know its not still in my computer since avast can’t find it?

I still will want to run Windows since new to linux. How do I get avast to help catch things I feel like it don’t work to well . maybe there is a bad setting. Any help would be great.

Attach your basic diagnostic logs. (MBAM, FRST and aswMBR)

NO security program have 100% detection or zero false positives

The world of malware is not static, bad guys constantly modify and create new versions to avoid detection

Attach the logs Asyn requested and a malware expert will assist you

In addition to the above, make sure PUP detection is enabled in avast.

hey guys thank you . i am in maryland so bare with me, we have about 25" of snow and a 7800sq ft driveway so i been doing some serious snow blowing and shoveling. I will be back and forth here tho. i did notice my avast isnt up to date…its crazy i did a boot scan with avast and found a few java infections anyway ill stop talking here is my logs as requested.

I can see no sign of the worm, where was ClamAV reporting its’ location

windows install files ... seems like ClamAV False Positives

I would tend to agree with Pondus

ok guys thank you very much looks like this thing may be gone. i feel that im using less cpu’s then before this thiing always runs high…but it is a small netbook so not much room.

here is that log , and thank you guys if that is a false positive then maybe that make since when i delete it (before i talked to you) i had to do startup repair…wouldnt boot into windows…although booted to zorin os fine.

I did remove some rubbish although that would not make a large difference to the system behaviour

Any further problems

thanks no, so far things are good. thank you guys again. i will delete some of these tools now and some of the reports.

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version
