Password protected network?

I am connected to my home wifi network, which has 2 5G and a 2.4 option. They are all password protected. I have confirmed this through my router. They all use WPA2-Personal security. My windows wifi settings also confirms these are all secured networks. Every single time I open my computer I am getting a pop up notification from Avast that I am connected to a network without a password. I have gone through all the notification settings to get this to stop and cannot find any option to block the pop-ups. I feel like I’m losing my mind. Aside from the pop-ups, it’s concerning to me that Avast is not recognizing a secured network.

Ditto. Avast Antivirus keeps popping up every hour telling me that I have an insecure password for a network device (my router). (a) It is absolutely NOT insecure, it is very strong. (b) I have manually marked the issue as “resolved”. And (c) I have the Network Inspector configured to NOT re-scan networks automatically, and NOT test network devices for weak passwords. Yet, every hour I get the same annoying pop-up.

Not sure your issue is the same as the Original Poster.

Are you on the latest Avast Program version 25.3.xxxx (which has only been released) or 25.2.xxxx ?

I’m still on 25.2.xxxx and that was when the plague of Network Inspector notifications started (as far as I’m aware this still has to be resolved). I have all options disabled.

I suspect that these notification probably fall under Scan New Networks automatically rather than a repeat of the same network connection. If so it may also fall under the Notify Me About New Network scan progress.

Also see my 2nd Network Inspector screenshot.

I’ve got version 25.3.9983a (build 25.3.9983.0).

I previously had “Re-scan networks automatically” turned off but “Scan new networks automatically” was still turned on. Yet I kept getting the pop-up about my home network, which had already been scanned.

I’ve now configured it exactly as shown in your screen shots. I’ll report back if that resolves the issue, but sounds as though it didn’t work for you.

Same happening with me. Driving me crazy too.

It worked for me, but I’m also still using Avast Free 25.2.xxxx and on manual program updates.

Did you try any of the previous suggestions ?

Update: Turning off ALL network scanning as shown in @DavidR’s screenshots seems to have worked! Makes no sense, as the continual pop-ups were for a non-existent issue on the same OLD network I’ve been using for 10 years, not a new one… but there you have it!

There have by all accounts been a fix/update (delivered outside of the normal program update cycle) on this bug with the Network Inspector.
So I have been able to reset the Scan new networks automatically option back on without the associated Notification popup.

I have also updated to 25.3.xxxx and is working with that also.

Have turned off network inspector

That won’t find why/what is the issue. I would suggested starting by unchecking the Scan New Network connections.

By all accounts there has been a fix for this issue, what is your program version and build number ?

Mine 25.3.9983a (build 25.3.9983.0) and UI 1.0.833
