Password Protection software

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good, free, SIMPLE password protection software.

Basically, something that you can store passwords and other information for online things.

Please only mention things from a reliable source (I’ve used CNET in the past, and they have a download software that nearly wrecked things).

KeePass is good and FileHippo downloads are safe also http://www.filehippo.com/download_keepass/

Developer website http://keepass.info/ there are newer versions listed here.

Craig may I ask what’s wrong with LastPass ::slight_smile:

Nothing that I know of

jujubee IF you’re interesting using LastPass see link https://lastpass.com/

@Craig thanks just checking I know KeePass is good as I wasn’t to sure about LastPass

I don’t trust Last Pass.

They make you sign up online and then have the password you use to access the program. If you forget it, they can send it to you. Which means they know the password too and find out your other passwords.

I’m looking for an safe program which I can keep purely on my desktop with an encrypted password. Basically it will store my passwords without needing online access.

I’m not sure about KeepPass. Is that a safe program? It doesn’t look like a mainstream one.

You asked for recommendations and two good ones were given, we don’t give recommendations for non trusted software.

You can read the reviews/comments about KeePass on the FileHippo website from the link I supplied.
