Passwords not being saved in Avast Secure browser

I’ve been using the Avast browser for years and I haven’t had any problems. They save just fine. But for the last month or so I’ve had issues with my password list disappearing. I’d add them to the list, but then if I close the tab and go back to it, all the passwords are gone.

This question was asked in Nov. 2024 and was never answered.

Sounds like the Avast browser’s password storage is glitching out. A couple things usually fix it:

  • Make sure the browser is actually signed in to your Avast account, if it’s not, it won’t sync or save anything.

  • Clear the browser’s cache (not passwords) and restart it.

  • Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Passwords and make sure saving is still enabled.

  • If all else fails, update or reinstall the browser, a lot of people said the late-2024 update caused weird sync bugs.

Usually after a reinstall the passwords start sticking again.
