“and some ads”. Sorry, but WHAT ads!?!?! AVG has them, AVIRA has them, i couldn’t see any in avast!. Apart from the test banner which is now gone anyway.
Avast Antivirus will do a decent job protecting a PC from malware, but if you're willing to put up with a less-than-perfect interface (and some ads), you're better off going with Avira's top-notch blocking.
Is he reviewing avast! or advertising for Avira ???
Be sure to read the how-to guide that pops up the first time you use the program, unless you enjoy scratching your head and growling at your monitor
>:( Didn't look at the guide... didn't scratch my head either... The interface is quite simple to understand I think... besides, u can change the skin in avast 4... Seems like CNET does not agree with PC World... http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Home-Edition/3000-2239_4-10019223.html

Obviously i am not a native english speaker but i read it the same way as STONER …
I am always skeptical about anything published in PC World as they are advertising driven and promote products that advertise there favorably and negatively those that don’t.
Can a hard copy of PC World still be purchased?
Last time I read one 90% was advertising with full page ads for products and maybe 1% good stuff.
