Hello;
I am having an ongoing issue with a regular PDF file we receive from a subscription service, which for some reason now get tagged as containing the PDF:URLMal-inf[Trj] virus. The sender is reputable, and they have told me that their files and systems have been thoroughly scanned with Norton., and are unable to help us. They have said that nobody else has reported any problems.
I reported this to Avast as a false positive awhile ago, but no response. Since Avast does not allow me to restore the file on my system, I can’t even get it back.
PDF:URLMal-inf[Trj] = PDF.doc that containe a URL that is blacklisted by avast
I think avast is the only security vendor that does it like this, instead of allowing the pdf.doc and blocking the URL when clicked on they move the doc to quarantine as soon as they see it
I am having the same problem when I try to print a Yahoo web page in order to save it, as a pdf. The page comes directly from Yahoo and only contains text instructions on how to download Yahoo mail to a local disk. I have a copy of the full page source, in Word, and screen shots of the web page, including the URL. The page source includes a LOT of code that seems to be extraneous, but I don’t have the knowledge to figure out whether it is dangerous. I have filed a “false positive” report with Avast, but have not heard anything back from them.
