Using prog version 2014.9.0.2021 in Win7 64bit. When I resume my PC from sleep mode, and an Avast scan is waiting to start, it does start but it often immediately stalls for a long time on one file. Today a quick scan started and was stuck on one small file for several minutes before it went on to others. A couple days ago a pending Full Scan started and it sat stuck on a small file (about 215KB) for over 10 minutes. I stopped the scan and started a new one. The manually started one ran fine.
Is there some known problem when you resume your PC from sleep mode and a pending scan starts up immediately?
In my previous post I mentioned that today’s quick scan seemed stuck on one file. Well, the scan took over 26 minutes whereas they typically take 15 minutes. So it was stuck for over 10 minutes on that file.

It’s a different file each time. Another Full Scan hung today after scanning about 56000 files in about 5 minutes. I killed it and did a manual full scan which ran about 33 minutes and scanned over 326000 files.
This issue only happens, I think, when I wake up the computer and a scan is waiting to start. It starts but then hangs (sometimes but not always).
I’ve discovered that the scan is not actually hung. The scan is proceeding but the Avast display of the progress is not updating. I could see that the disk was very busy with the scan. I found that if I switched to some other section of the Avast UI and went back to the scan view the scan status was updating again.
I had encountered that issue once in a while when using v2014.
Since the release of v2015.10.0.2206 that is a thing of the past.
One more thing the scan progress orb is better looking than v2014.
