Permissions regularly deactivated

Hi. I’m just now using Avast after trying others, and having had issues.
My previous antivirus product I used for years, until it began misbehaving, apparently.
After scans and cleaning, all was fine. Then my Android phone needed daily permissions resetting. Web and app real time checks were turned off. All restarts etc produced no change. The product support didn’t know, so I let it lapse, and this year just started with the on board Defender product. The same issue has arisen. Avast, after a week, is now turning off permission most days, so cannot do automatic scans. It’s confirmed that this android 12 phone, a couple of years old, has an issue. It’s great in other ways, but product support is a no go, literally. For any issues, a few years back with an earlier model, the Hong Kong helpline said, ‘send us the phone, to our repair centre in… Romania’.
I will probably just deal with it until I go for a new 5G phone (not from this maker I imagine).
I’d be interested and grateful to hear of any similar experiences…

There have been well documented issues of Avast Web Shield turning OFF automatically, generally on Samsung phones for a long time. There is no fix, just have to use settings to turn access OFF then ON again. See: Scan says Webshield off but Accessibility toggle for Avast is on
