Since the latest update it seems, I keep getting these phantom pop-ups. I’ll see a pop-up flash for a brief second before it goes away. I can’t even tell what Avast is trying to notify me about.
Everything seems to be OK when I open the UI (I have Avast Premium Security and Avast Cleanup Premium). I see nothing in the “Alerts” tab. History doesn’t show anything since about 2 weeks ago (downloaded something bad). There are also no Ignored Issues.
What’s going on? How do I find out?
edit: also, please let me know if I should post this elsewhere
Thank you for the suggestion. I have completed those steps and will report the results. This usually happens multiple times a day, so I should know within 24 hours if this worked. Thanks!
I have been having the same issue as the OP, I get these phantom popups as well… I did the repair routine to avast but it is still happening, one guess I am thinking of why this is happening is that it has something to with the Windows 10 2004 update… I am think that Avast just does not agree with it somehow, all I know is that it is annoying more than anything…
Yes! That is exactly what’s happening. I did try to search for a similar topic before I posted, but didn’t come across that post. I’ll follow along with that one and hope for the best. I always run the upgrades when they come out, so hopefully the “repair” trick will work.
Not seeing these, but my about avast reports program version Avast Free 20.7.2425 (build 20.7.5568.591), User Interface version UI-1.0.558 and reports it is up to date. A manual check for updates also reports it is up to date.
Just going to restart to see if there is anything awaiting a restart.
Note I also have Program Updates set to manual.
EDIT: After the restart I ended up with Avast Free version 20.7.2425 (build 20.7.5568.595) given this very minor increment this looks like a minor update/bug fix outside of a regular program update.
