Piggybacked Software, how to uninstall?

Hi everyone. At some point, something I downloaded must’ve secretly included this VPN software bundled or piggybacked in. I can see it in Task Manager and go to its file location, but absolutely nowhere does it show up in uninstall apps/programs lists. I ran the Avast uninstall program and that did nothing. I even tried deleting the folder, downloading the free version from Avast so I could do a proper install, but even that didn’t do any normal prompts and is still a weird ghost program in my computer.

What the heck is going on and how do I get rid of this mess? I was up til 4am looking for answers and got nowhere lol.

I’m running Windows 11.

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

You don’t say what Avast Antivirus Program you have installed ?

Avast One comes with a limited VPN component where data and number of VPN locations are limited.
Avast Antivirus or Avast Premium Security don’t, you would have to purchase it.

I did not install any Avast antivirus software. I attempted to install the free version of Avast SecureLine VPN in order to then uninstall fully. I had never heard of Avast before any of this and have never used any of their products before. The VPN software was piggybacked with some other, non-Avast software and I wasn’t aware of it until now. I hope that makes things a little more clear.

You could try AvastClear. That should remove most traces of any Avast software from your machine.

Mabye you didn’t opt out of the extra crap that came with some installer. So annoying to have to check every time.
