Planned release date for Debian Bullseye (11)?

Hello,

I’m currently in the process of upgrading a few machines to the upcoming Debian 11 Bullseye release and wanted to ask when Avast is planning on releasing
a version for debian-bullseye and if changing the repository in sources.list.d from
deb http://deb.avast.com/lin/repo debian-buster release
to
deb http://deb.avast.com/lin/repo debian-bullseye release
will be enough to upgrade?

I noticed a small issue:
Jul 01 13:09:37 system kernel: process '/usr/bin/avast' started with executable stack

I currently think it is not a critical issue -but thought I’ll give you a heads-up - maybe you can adapt the source/buildprocess to avoid needing an executable stack
I found the following link which points to the changes made in 2019:
https://lore.kernel.org/patchwork/patch/1164047/

Thanks in Advance!

Hi, sorry that you didn’t get any response earlier.

We’ve made a new release (4.0.3), which now supports Debian 11.

Please change the sources.list to the new URL:

deb https://repo.avcdn.net/linux-av/deb debian-bullseye release

Regarding the executable stack issue - I’ll check if we can do anything about it.

The executable stack is fixed in version 4.0.4 (published today).

Is there any link for executable file of Avast pro managed, Debian 11

When we are able to make installation. It takes too long time after distribution.

Best regards

Hi, I don’t understand what you mean by “executable file of Avast pro managed”.

The new version is available for update in the RPM / DEB repo at https://repo.avcdn.net/linux-av/
