I not only tried this, but white list alot of pia files in the white list. I am getting frustrated!
what do i need to do step by step to make it work! Please help I am losing sleep over this.

I ran into the same problem. After trying unsuccessfully to deal with Avast I gave up and disabled the PIA extension. It seemed like none of the PIA options (turning them off in PIA) effected Avast’s NO OPTION blocking of PIA’s attempts to protect. Basically this means that the 2 can’t coexist. IT YOU TURN OFF AVAST’S WEB SHIELD then PIA will run without issue.
Avast is not very informative about what it’s blocking rules are and I’m at a loss to know if PIA is offering blocking options that are all the same or different in terms of offering additional protections or if turning off Web Shield offers less protection than PIA alone.
Personally, there is 1 option in PIA extension that I was hoping to take advantage of and it deals with bypassing VPN for a whitelist of web sites that won’t allow VPN access or at least won’t allow PIA’s VPN access like Netflix, Hulu and Ticketmaster. I prefer PIA’s VPN over most others because it guarantees no tracking or logging which I would Avast does.
I’ve been using Avast for years and have had no virus et-al issues but know it is not the best out there except in maybe the free class. I’d give Kaspersky a try if I had the time to explore its options.
