I have a virus called Win32: trojan-gen {other)

It seems that this is a common problem but i can’t find instructions on how to get rid of it that i can understand. Here’s the info about it that i have:

Im using windows xp
the virus is called Win32: trojan-gen {other}

its says its been found in 2 different files
C:windows\system32\winkey.dll file and
C\windows\system32\reginv.ddl

and i ran hijackthis and this is what it gave me

when you say “fix” what does that entail? deleting or what??

It will remove the program from your computer or web browser.

im sorry if i seem really slow but what will remove it? do i have to do this manually? i used the online scanner but am stuck at what to do next

i fixed the one’s you suggested now…but the first three were back after i rebooted…what now?

First, what option did you choose when the virus was detected, move to chest, delete, what?
Are the original files still there?

By fix we mean tick the box to the left of the entry in th HJT scan, check out this HJT tutorial for some HJT Information HiJackThis Tutorial

Ignore any 023 reference to avast processes, this is a hiccup in the HJT 1.99.1 (especially missing file entry for avast), if you need any help with any of the analysis let us know.
