Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me with a problem that occured today.
I have a video converter program ( Ultra Video to Flash ) that I’ve been using for quite some time. Today I ran it and immediately got a virus warning from Avast telling me it was infected ( with a Win32:Trojan-gen {Other} ). I was shocked!
So, i moved it to the virus chest as instructed. Looking at the file in the chest… it said the file was last changed on 9/27/2006. Now I have used this program ~countless~ times between today and Sept. 27, 2006. So how can it be infected all of a sudden? This has to be a false positive, correct?
How can a program that I use almost every day get infected? I didn’t run or install any new programs. And after a thorough scan with Avast… all my other files are perfectly clean.
This program is very important in the work I do. I’m sure it’s not infected… but Avast won’t let me run it. What can I do?
Just out of curiosity, I extracted the file from the chest… zipped it up and uploaded to Jotti.Org… these are the results I received.
