Please help!

I don’t even know where to begin.

I installed avast and when it rebooted on installation it detected a trojan in one of my spysweeper files. I hit the wrong number and ended up deleting it when I wanted to put it in the vault.

I don’t know what to do now. I need to run spysweeper but of course there is a file missing. Do I reinstall???

Hi tnelfrank,

I think you’ll have to. Just reinstalling over the old installation may well fix it.

What is the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ? Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections.

It may be that it was a signature file.
