Please help!!!!

Will avast! system boot scan still ignore viruses/infected files that i previously ignored during my last scan?

I was forced to ignore these files since none of the options given seem to work…I then canceled the scan, change its setting to automatically delete infected files without asking for any actions, and then restarted the system boot scan. The report now shows that i have no more infected files. Now I’m worried whether or not the program intentionally ignored these infected files again or were already deleted. Please help me…Thanks

I can’t say for sure, but since these exclusions are used by avast whilst running under windows, perhaps not as the boot-time scan operates outside windows and I don’t know if it can acess that exclusions information.

Deletion isn’t really a good first option (you have none left), ‘first do no harm’ don’t delete, send virus to the chest and investigate. I never delete, first, second or third option, deletion is a ‘last’ option after thorough investigation, you are probably realising that at the moment.

If you recognised the files as being in your exclusions then ignore should have been the right option. You could check in the C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\report\aswboot.txt file that should give information on the boot-time scan.

The Exclusion list (on-demand scanning) should work but not the items ignored in a particular scanning (and when they were detected as infected).

Something is not working well… the options should work.

No, avast won’t ignore them.

If the files were deleted, avast won’t consider them again.
