Pop up warning about add-on is a virus

We have frequently been getting pop up warnings on our network. The warning comes up when starting a browser. It’s red and in the middle of the screen.
Has Avast on it and warns of an add-on that has a bad reputation from other avast users. There is a remove tab on it. Last week one of our users click on the remove tab and his computer went completely whacko. It took a long list of cleaners to get it back up and running.

Does anyone know where this is coming from and how to stop the pop-up??

Thanks…Jim

Hello and welcome to the Forum!

Could you please post a screenshot of the popup?

Don’t have one right now, but will post when it happens again.

Ok, thanks.

I have Avast pro, and I continually get this pop-up - not sure why Avast thinks my HP laptop software has a bad reputation. This pop-up seems to match the previous entries. I have never ‘clicked’ on it… as I don’t believe it is a bad add-on

ps - how do I get rid of this pop-up??

yeah i have same problem too,

I have also a problem every time i open my browser chrome and Firefox this will come out…

Yes. Also a popup here. Any answer on how to disable this?
