Popups about outgoing email

I’m using Avast free 2014.9.0.2008. Suddenly, when I send email, I’m getting popups announcing that Avast has certified the outgoing mail to be safe, or something of that sort.

This is a first. I’ve never received these crowing announcements before. If Avast wants to check outgoing email, that’s fine. But I’d prefer not to hear a blast of herald trumpets an announcement of a successful check every time I send email.

QUESTION: Is there a way I can stop these announcements? (I couldn’t find anything in the user interface.)

Settings/Active protection/Mailshield.
click the “gear wheel” for settings
then “Behaviour” to turn off the inserted message

Settings/Active protection/Mailshield

Under “Settings” I don’t have “Active protection” or “Mailshield”

I right-clicked on the Avast icon in the tray and called up the last popup:

The “configure” link allowed me to shut off the annoying popups ( and also stop inserting notes in my emails ).
