Is this a false positive?

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member. As are most who might respond so they really aren’t going to be able to say one way or another. A screenshot of the Avast Alert with Show details may have helped.
You can send it from Quarantine for Analysis, I don’t know the process exactly as I don’t use Avast One.
In Avast Antivirus Free, you Right click on the Avast Tray icon and select Quarantine. Find the file in Quarantine and Right Click on it, there should be an option to send for analysis or words to that effect.
You won’t get a direct reply, but it should be analysed within 48hrs, if found to be an FP it should be removed from the database. So give it a few days and try to extract it/send it back to its original location.
… many thanks for your most helpful information. I forwarded the details to Avast from quarantine 8 days ago. Fingers crossed, having restored the file and run a repair the situation now looks normal today so probably was a false positive. My thanks again, Henry
