Possible false positives

avast! says that iObit programs are a virus. Now none of my iObit programs, like Advanced Windows Care and Smart Defrag don not work anymore. I scanned these files with Avira and Clamwin and they did not find a virus. ???

Jotti’s malware scan showed that only avast! reports the iObit files as malware:

“POSSIBLY INFECTED/MALWARE (Note: this file was only classified as malware by scanners known to generate more false positives than the average scanner. Do not consider these results definately accurate. Also, because of this, results of this scan will not be recorded in the database.)”

I suggest you check the forum search function as I believe there is already one or two topics relating to this. You could add your experience to that topic, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=36306.msg304562#msg304562.

If it is indeed a false positive, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=34950.msg293451#msg293451, how to report it to avast! and what to do to exclude them until the problem is corrected.

Yes, false positives :-\

Something is seriously screwed up with this Win32:Delf-KMP sig. A bunch of false positives were reported on my hard drive today.

They usually correct this soon.
Did you update your virus database?
