Potential Infection? [SOLVED]

Every 30 minutes or so I see a random blank white window pop up and close before I can even get a log of what exactly it is… I’m not sure what it is but I’m running scans and will have logs for you soon.

Completing a custom scan on Avast. Will notify if it finds anything with the new definitions.

Ok so I got more of a glimpse of what it was an it appears to be a blank command prompt window that opens and closes. Is there any way to figure out what it is? It appears every hour at about the 30-32 minute mark.

I now have a screenshot of what it is and it doesn’t appear to be a virus… it seems my office word has glitched. Any idea on how to fix this?

I have solved the issue. It’s a task scheduler thing that runs each hour forever. I disabled it and it should cease now.

Well that particular cmd was stopped… Now there’s one running when the PC starts. If someone could please check the logs to ensure I’m not infected, that’d help. Thanks. Avast came back clean and so did MBAM so I’m at a loss at what caused these other than Microsoft 365 since that is the only thing that has updated so far. This new cmd.exe seems to be from System32 from what I read when it flashed as the computer started.

From checking your logs, it seems that the only likely candidate is your Epson printer software combined with a few Window’s Services that hang when starting. Your logs show no evidence of malware at this time.

If there issue is bothering you, you may want to consider either trying to repair Windows (a Refresh install) or use Windows Repair All-In-One (from www.tweaking.com).

Thank you for checking, I’ll look into re-installing the printer software. But that should do it for the help I need.

Thanks for your time,
