I just got a warning of a file called mscorlib.ni.dll that APC PowerChute (or one of it’s executables, I remember it being some sort of update executable) tried to access, blocking it. Now my PowerChute says “Energy usage not being monitored - APC Data Service not running”. I’m quite sure it’s a false positive, but I can’t seem to find any logs about this, the only thing I can see is Last file infected in File System Shield window. Also, I can’t seem to be able to find the file in question anymore.
Nope, nothing in Virus Chest.
Edit: It seemed to have disabled APC Data Service (a service, from Services.msc / Administration tools). Starting the service again makes PowerChute not complain about a missing service. So probably no harm done, I’m just thinking it might have tried to check for updates… which would be kinda nice to see working rather than being blocked by Avast next time it tries to do that.
Another edit: For more info on my system, I’m running Windows 7 X64 and Avast 6.0.1000.
