Problem encountered when editing my "signature" info???

Good morning everyone,

When I was editing my "signature information", then clicked on the button to save the changes, the error message shown below was displayed.

The following errors occurred when trying to save your profile:
The following BBC is not allowed within your signature: acronym, anchor, bdo, black, blue, br, code, flash, ftp, glow, green, html, hr, iurl, li, list, me, move, nobbc, php, pre, quote, red, s, shadow, sub, sup, table, td, time, tr, tt, white.

The only change I tried to make was to add “Avast EasyPass” (without the quotes) to the part of my signature where my computer, OS, etc are shown.

Any ideas as to what the problem is or how to resolve would be much appreciated. (It’s not all that big a deal, but I’m mainly interested in what the issue is for my own edification).

Thank you for your time and any info!

As you are probably aware there has been a large reshuffle of the forum, A.K.A. and update and things had to be migrated and many settings are at defaults, so many have found issues.

These are being addressed and I don’t know if this default setting will be changed or not, but it isn’t the edit that you wanted to make, but the existing content. You have coloured text in the signature already Pete C, so that is what triggered it when you opened it for edit, when you clicked save you initiated the check.

So at a guess you have Bold Italic Blue text, but at least Blue text which fails the BBC (Bulletin Board Code) check.

Thanks very much for the enlightenment, David!

You’re welcome.

So if you want to edit you signature and add “Avast EasyPass” you would have to remove the Blue text formatting on Pete C., but you would probably be able to retain the Bold and Italic formatting of it.

I appreciate the additional info, David! I’ll give that a try.

EDIT: Your instructions fixed the problem David! Thanks very much again!

No problem.
